Mega-Bowl Zauchensee

In Zauchensee, Salzburg, Austria, a new artificial water storage-lake for the Man-Made Snowproduction of this wintersport-resort is about to be completed. Up on an elevation of over 2.000 meters (6.000 feet), the guys concrete-covered a huge mountain-bowl with a diameter of 200 meters (600 feet) into the landscape in order to fill it up with water, before the winter-season will be coming up.

Thanks to the guys at Red Bull, I got to know of this incredible location just in time. The concrete-bowl was about to be completed, with no water filled in there, yet. So I quickly checked a photographer and a filmer and made my way to there. You can’t miss a chance like this …

The weather hasn’t really been on our side that (only possible) day, but still, we managed to to score some great shots. As I write this, the watrer is already being pumped into this bowl, too bad, it seems like this has been a one-off (and unique) opportunity.

Thanks to Helmut, Andy and Felix.
