Presentation of my very own BMW Chris Pfeiffer F 800 R!
Believe it or not, BMW is seriously considering to release my very own BMW signature-model of an F 800 R. A study of it has already been presented at EICMA Tradeshow in Milan. This is an absolute premiere for the sport of Stuntriding, to see a rider getting awarded a signature model by a manufacturer under his name. I only knew this from Snowboarding and Skateboarding so far. Right now I feel very pleased by that and I hope that this will pay back some of the awareness and respect to the sport I am so much into. Here is what BMW Motorrad wrote about it:
BMW Motorrad announces the price of the new F 800 R and presents F 800 R study in Chris Pfeiffer design.
Munich/Milan: Chris Pfeiffer rides the BMW F 800 R. The Street Bike Freestyle World Champion will once again be demonstrating the physical limits of motorcycling at the international motorcycle trade fair EICMA in Milan (November 4th – 9th 2008). For his breathtaking freestyle show he will be using the brand new BMW F 800 R for the first time – a model which will be available in dealerships as of the first half of 2009, the price in Germany is 7,850 euros incl. VAT. BMW Motorrad has been presenting the medium category naked bike to the public for the first time in Milan. In addition to the distinctive serial production machine, BMW Motorrad will also be exhibiting a study of the F 800 R in Chris Pfeiffer design. Hendrik von Kuenheim, Head of BMW Motorrad: “We are considering putting the F 800 R on the market next year in this design.”
In the characteristic BMW Motorrad Motorsport colours of white, red and blue, the study makes a highly dynamic, distinguished visual impression. The sporty, slim appearance of the F 800 R study is further enhanced by the additional seat cover and the painted front protection plate. The autograph of Chris Pfeiffer on the fuel tank trip and the sponsor stickers also create pure motor racing feeling.
Like its serial production sibling, the study is powered by the engine with the highest level of torque in its competitive class. The parallel twin provides a maximum torque of 86 Newton metres and a maximum output of 87 bhp. In conjunction with the low weight (177 kg dry / 199 kg road-ready) and suspension settings fine-tuned for perfect handling, the BMW Motorrad engineers have created an extremely ridable and easily controllable motorcycle which is ideal both for ambitious riders and for novices.
